Islanders Dominate
Panthers

On December 2nd Kerry Park faced off against the Peninsula Panthers. The Islanders took control of the game fast, and didn’t relinquish control start to finish. Kevin Shillito scored the first foal for Kerry Park on the power play. Play continued to be held mostly in the Panthers end as the Islanders defense and forwards worked to keep control of the game. Mike Posey scored The Islanders second goal as he received a pass from Keegan Young. Bryce Balone finished the period for Kerry Park as he scored a goal with 3 minutes left on the clock giving them a 3-0 lead.

As the second period started, the hitting really began to pick up. This didn’t stop the Islanders as they scored 2 goals in the first ten minutes of the period. One goal was scored by Grant from his back. After yet another Islanders goal, a fight broke between Devin Marshall and a Peninsula player.  The Islander’s Marshall led to his bench after absolutely rocking the Peninsula player who appeared to have been knocked out and cut by the blows.      

The third period started out with Kerry Park pressuring yet again. The Islanders gained two goals before the mid section of the period, which seemed to spur the Panthers in to  a higher level of play, resulting in a Peninsula goal just before the halfway mark of the on a power play. The Islanders and the Panthers traded shots until the end of the period where Peninsula scored their second goal of the night. The Islanders finished the game leading 8-2.
